Who I am

I'm Oscar. I build things — some for work, others out of my own fire. I'm interested in how things work, but I'm more interested in why we make them.

How I think

• Depth before reach. I'd rather have ten readers who stay than a thousand who scroll past.
• I'd rather be found. I don't go out shouting for attention; I leave true things where people can find them.
• Building > opining. Opinions are worth more when they come from someone who makes things.
• Curiosity as the engine. The best projects I've made started with a "what if...?".

Why this site exists

For a while I wondered whether having my own site instead of posting on social media was an elegant way of hiding. I concluded it isn't — as long as I don't keep it a secret.

Social media is a public square: anyone walks by, judges, or ignores. This site is my house: whoever arrives, arrives because they meant to. What lasts lives here — my philosophy, my projects, my developed opinions. Social media will be the street that leads here.

I don't want to be a hidden flame. That's why this site has a mascot: a little being of simple strokes, alive and in plain sight — proof that what was hidden is now visible. The full story is in the first post.
